FAQs and Help

What is MeetYourBand.com all about?
MeetYourBand.com is the most unique and comprehensive musician site on the web, made by musicians, for musicians. We are dedicated to helping musicians find other musicians based on several criteria. In the near future, we will have several more features including ways to help get your band more gigs.
Is MeetYourBand.com really free?
Yes - 100% FREE! Feel free to contact any member of our site without worrying about fees.
What are the differences between the account types?
There are two profile account types. One is a personal profile, which is for any individual musician (whether or not you're in a band), DJs, MCs, solo artists, and music tutors or students looking for music tutors. The other profile is for your band. Use this profile to show off your band, display your music & videos and get some gigs! Each profile type will need a unique email address.
What does it mean to "Star" someone?
Starring someone saves them in a list of favorites, so you can easily access their profile without having to search. Think of it as a bookmark list.
Someone from one of my stats lists has randomly disappeared. Why?
If a member seems to have randomly disappeared from your star list, block list, or contacts list have no fear, it is not an error. The member that was once on your list has either hidden their profile from view or cancelled their membership. If they should choose to return or make their profile visible again, they will reappear on your list!

Is my information private?
Yes. Click here to review our privacy policy.
Is my email address private?
Yes. We do not give or sell your email address.
Is there a limit to the number of contacts I can send?
Yes, 40 per day. We have this limit for security purposes.
My question still isn't answered. What should I do?
Please contact support with any further inquiries or suggestions. We value everyone's opinion and input!
Questions Specific to Band Accounts
How can I add people to my band profile?
When a band profile is set up, a new button, "Add Me To Your Band" pops up when browsing personal profiles. Upon clicking this, you are prompted to enter a display (or stage) name for this person, along with their roles or talents in the band. Once that person approves the request, they will then be linked. You can also add band members even if they are not a member of MeetYourBand.com. Simply go to "My Band Members" from your profile or "My Settings" and add them in without entering a username. This member will not have a photo, and their name will not link to any other profile - s strongly recommend that they set up their own personal profile!
How do I add my personal profile as a band member on the band profile I set up?
For your convenience, we have set up a login form to do this. Once you have logged in to your band profile, click on the "My Band Members" button in the edit section. Underneath the "display name" is a checkbox allowing you to link your own personal profile. You can then simply enter your username and password, and your personal profile will then be linked to your band profile.
How can I delete myself off of a band profile?
Simply log in to your personal profile and go to the band's profile page. Under the "Band Members" section, you will see a "delete me from this band" link beneath your name.
